Our Maidenhead Data Centre (DC5), located to the west of London, offers the benefits of a suburban facility with the connectivity of a metropolitan hub. Known as Spectrum House, this 2800m², Tier 3 data centre is the largest in Iomart’s portfolio, designed to serve businesses with high-performance infrastructure needs.

With advanced power, cooling, and security, DC5 supports resilient, scalable operations, making it ideal for organisations looking to leverage proximity to the capital without the congestion of inner-city locations.

  • Location and Accessibility: Just 2 miles from the M4 and under a mile from Maidenhead train station, DC5 is easy to access, with over 30 secure parking spaces on-site.
  • Power and Backup: Equipped with dual 11,000-volt power feeds, six 600kVA and four 500kVA UPS systems, and six 1.5MVA backup generators, DC5 ensures continuous power availability.
  • 24/7 Monitoring and Support: Staffed around-the-clock by a dedicated team, with additional support from Iomart’s UK-wide NOC, providing consistent, expert oversight. 

  • 3 x diverse fibre routing into the Data Centre via multiple carriers

  • Direct peering interconnection to London LINX, Telehouse and Equinix facilities

  • 2 x 11,000 volt 8MVA supplies from 2 diverse feeds into the site 
  • 2 x Diverse feeds provisioned via different physical routes into separate switches 
  • 6 x 600kVA and 4 x 500kVA UPS units (N+1 configuration) 
  • 6 x 1.5MVA back-up generators (N+1 configuration) 
  • Generators can operate on full occupancy for an initial 36 hours 
  • Fuel replacement contract with multiple suppliers delivering a 10-hour SLA

  • N+1 redundant Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) system 
  • Fully redundant air handling units provide constant fresh airflow

  • No external indication of the use of the facility 
  • Secure 3-metre-high perimeter fence 
  • Access controls at all pedestrian and vehicle access points 
  • Data hall access requires Proximity Card or Biometric Fingerprint access 
  • Internal and external CCTV systems – 90 days recording in line with PCI DSS 
  • Dual zone fire detection equipped with Fike Gas Fire suppression system 
  • VESDA system located throughout the Data Centre 
  • Double knock system which ensures that it takes 2 alerts to trigger activation 
  • Fire alarm buttons are located at each access and egress point 
  • Activation does not affect critical power to the data halls 
  • Fluid detection integral to Air Conditioning units
