Central London Data Centre - DC2
Our London data centre is based right at the very heart of Europe’s financial capital, within the ‘square mile’ of the City of London. Located within a converted office building, the DC is made up of four data halls, each with 12kN/m² raised floor system – strengthened where heavier plant demands – and is incredibly easy to get to from just about anywhere in the city. That’s because it’s located within 500 metres of Liverpool Street, Moorgate and Old Street tube stations.
With a broad range of different network options, versatility is a key feature of our London facility. For peace of mind, the DC is also manned, at all times, by an experienced on-site team.
In 2022 the London site was also the first in a series of our facilities to receive a significant infrastructure investment. This involved swapping out our existing cooling and UPS equipment for more modern, highly efficient systems.
That makes it sound like a simple task – like changing a light bulb or rewiring a plug – but it was a really big undertaking that we invested a lot of time in. The work will be finished in early 2023, and we already see some of the benefits in terms of efficiency savings. These changes will make savings year on year, which will help us provide significant protection to our customers in terms of potential price increases
